直流电机一般采用内置或外置电源变压器，安全低能耗，运作时间长电机也不发热，为国际标准。且驱动功率一般较大，能负载的布帘可以达到40-100公斤，噪音比较小，特别是负载后比空转声音更小，另外其控制电路比较简单，一般都是内置接收器，不需要单独外接接收器。交流电机驱动方式可直接使用220V电源，控制电路比较复杂，一般都需外接接收器，且不太安全；虽驱动功率较大，但电机容易发热而影响使用寿命。
